I recently raised the handlebars
1-inch using an extra set of standard clamps. Instead of cutting the plastic cover to
reach the recessed switch with the key, I decided to "stretch" the key instead.
I wasn t going to do this fancy job, but a friend of mine with a dental laboratory took
the old key and made a mold of the top part with the stretch added. I got plain duplicate
keys from the local locksmith and cut the tops down to fit into the mold. The Honda logos
were easy to detach from the old key and glue to the new one. Voila.
If you know any ST'er who wants to try it, I'd be happy to loan the mold used to make this
key along with instructions I can get from my buddy with the dental lab.
